Summer TRI CLASS

Summer is here and it is time to get going on your 2008 triathlon training season! TBF Summer Tri Class. The 10-week class includes:

  • Professional triathlon coaching
  • Training packet and personalized training plans
  • Swim/bike/run clinics
  • Bike fit clinic
  • Bike repair & maintenance seminar
    Training, nutrition, body care, and race prep. Seminars
  • Motivational group and brick workouts
  • Open water swim lessons

  • Clif samples and refreshments at every workout
  • Entry into the July Tri-4-Fun or Tri-4-Real triathlon race(s)
  • Summer Camp trip and brick workout weekend

In addition to the Summer Tri Class, TBF Training has just started the Women’s only Learn to Tri Class. This class is similar to the Summer Tri Class but a bit shorter and it’s for women only. We still have room in the Women’s Class and we are offering FREE drop-ins all week.

TBF Open Water Swim Class

The TBF Open Water Swim Class begins on Tuesday May 13 at Nimbus Flat, Lake Natoma at 6:30p. This class will meet every Tue/Fri thru August 29th for stroke development and open water swim lessons. Each session includes professional swim coaching, swim form drills, open water swim drills, a focused swim workout, and FUN! The first workout of each month will include a swim time trial. Swim strong and with confidence in the open water with a little help from TBF Training. Cost: 5-Class Swim Pass for only $75!

   


Tuesday (5/27): Open Water Swim. Nimbus Flat, Lake Natoma, 6:30p. TBF is offering this Tuesday as a “make-up” swim for Monday being a holiday. The TBF open water swim class meets every Tue/Friday evening for the next 20 weeks! Each session includes stroke development lessons. In addition, open water specific techniques such as swimming straight, sighting, and drafting will be covered. Swim strong and with confidence in the open water with a little help from TBF. Recommended equipment: Swim gear/suit, wetsuit, water bottle, towel, and dry clothes for after class.

Wednesday (5/28): Run & Strength Workout. McKinley Park, Rose Garden, 6:30p. Please note this is a schedule change and is not consistent with the printed schedule. This will be a combined run/strength workout. We will begin with a run-warm up followed by light stretching. Class will also include run-form drills, run-strength drills, and a run warm-down. Following the run workout, class will conclude with guided post-workout stretching and a core body strength routine. Recommended equipment: Run shoes/gear, water bottle, HRM, towel, and dry clothes for after class.

Thursday (5/29): Track Attack. American River College, Soccer Fields, 6p. This class will be meeting on the Soccer Fields for the next two weeks due to graduation ceremonies. Track Attack is TBF’s run only class that meets year-round. This week will be a fun and motivational workout for all levels of runners. So, if you want to run stronger and faster than ever, TBF Track Attack is the place! Recommended equipment: Run shoes/gear, water bottle, HRM, towel, and dry clothes for after class.

Friday (5/30): Open Water Swim. Nimbus Flat, Lake Natoma, 6:30p. TBF is offering open water swim lessons every Friday evening thru the end of August! Each session includes stroke development lessons and open water specific techniques. Learn how to swim straight, sight, pace, draft, navigate, and more! At the TBF Open Water Swim Class athletes will learn how to swim strong and with confidence in the open water. And remember, your first workout is always FREE! Recommended equipment: Swim gear/suit, wetsuit, water bottle, towel, and dry clothes for after class.

Saturday (5/31): Transition Brick. Granite Beach, Folsom Lake, 8a. Please note this is a schedule change and is not consistent with the printed schedule. This workout will be a bike/run brick workout and transition practice. Athletes will learn how transition works in the sport of triathlon. We call the swim to bike transition “T-1” and the bike to run transition “T-2”. This session will show athletes how to complete T-1 and T-2 lightning fast! Following transition practice, athletes will enjoy a bike/run workout in the Park. Recommended equipment: All your bike and run gear, one large towel, and one small towel. Please note you will not need your swim gear.

Monday (6/2): Open Water Swim. Beals Pt, Folsom Lake, 6:30p. This will be another opportunity to develop your relationship with the water. This session will include open water swim lessons and stroke development lessons. Every time you complete an open water swim workout you become more confident with your skills and ability! Swim gear/suit, wetsuit, water bottle, towel, and dry clothes for after class.
